Alors que la première version de sa mixtape Ecletic sortie en 2008 avait été téléchargée plus de 25,000 fois, di Irie s’est finalement décidé à sortir un deuxième volume, 3 ans plus tard. Chose intéressante, dj Irie aurait pu sortir sa tape bien avant mais voilà, il possédait certains sons uniquement en mp3 et ne pouvait imaginer d’enregistrer une tape sans posséder le vinyl… Il a donc choisi d’attendre d’acheter l’intégrale de sa tracklist avant de mixer son Ecletic 2.0.
